Cute Teddy Calendar

Hi there and welcome back...

I love making novelty calendars, this one is one of my favourites, its a cute hanging Teddy Calendar. They are just so much fun to make.

Isn't she just the cutest, she's a paper piecing teddy which I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo form Pink Pirouette card, She has been sponged around each piece with Rose Red ink before assembly.

Her little bow has been made using the Heart from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the Flower from the Tree Builder Punch. Then I used the White Gel Pen to do some faux stitching. Her nose has been coloured with the Rose Red Marker Pen and then covered in Crystal Effects to make it shiny.

I used the Rose Red Marker pen to do faux stitching around all the pieces of the teddy and added some features to the face. Then I created a banner with a piece of Rose Red card, I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to shape the corners and did some faux stitching with  a White Gel Pen. Then I stuck the calendar to the banner.

Lastly I added some Thick Bakers Twine to hand the Teddy up with....

Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Hello and welcome back...

Do you have problems remembering important dates? Well I do, all the time and it drives me crazy. Every year I tell myself I will do better this year and somehow it still runs away from me......lol.  So when I saw this in the Stampin'Up! catalogue I had to get one.

Its called The Perpetual Birthday Calendar Simply Created Kit.

The kit contains all of these elements, 12 printed calendar sheets, clipboard, banners, accents and alphabet stickers, bakers twine, ribbon, sequin trim, sequins and glitter. It comes in a beautiful kraft box, so you could make it up and give it to someone.

I decided to use the instructions provided as a guide, here is the January sheet on the clipboard, I added the matching stamp set to my order, as I really liked it. It has all the months and a background stamp for each month as well which I have used a lot on other projects.

As you can see the background stamps are very versatile, you have snowflakes, leaves, flowers, stars, splodges, dots and butterflies.

A close up of April, I used the dot stamp and the watercolour wash stamp, along with the April stamp. I added a glitter banner and a feather and an A for April. So pretty.

You can decorate the edges and corners, follow the guide or do your own thing theres lots of scope.

I had lots of elements left over which I can use on cards or other projects.

All the products used are listed below if you would like to order this kit and have a go for yourself, just click on an item to go to my on-line store.

An Open Heart Calendar with drawer.

Hello and welcome back....

Todays calendar has a little extra something as you will see....

Basically its an Easel card on top of a box with a drawer, you will see several different versions of this on Pinterest and the net. This one is very easy to make and can be a lot of fun to give as presents.

The card for the box outer is 5" x 11", scored on the long side at 1", 5", 6" and 10", then scored on the short side at 1" , this will give you a box with one opening.
The drawer is 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and scored at 1" and 2" on all sides, once assembled this will fit inside the box, you will need to some kind of handle on the drawer to open it, I used a large Antique Brad.

The Easel part is 4" x 8" and is scored along the long side at 4" and 6", fold along the score lines and stick to top of box. I put a mat onto the base before sticking on the calendar. Then I decorated a panel with the stamp set An Open Heart and matted it onto a piece of Soft Suede card before attaching it to the Easel card.

The drawer can hold a Post-It note pad, small pen and small pencil, or it could hold paperclips and drawing pins, great for use on a desk or by the telephone for taking messages.

Being an easel card on top means that it will fold down so you can pop it in the post fairly easily.

I hope you like todays calendar pop back tomorrow for a different one...

Easel Card Calendar

Hello and welcome back....

Today's Calendar is an Easel Card Calendar complete with Post-It notes. I love this one I have one on my desk and each year I just pop a new calendar on it....lol.
This one is for my daughter, hence all the pinkness...

This is really an Easel card with Post-It notes to hold the card open. I started with half an A4 piece of card cut lengthways as before. Then score it at 14.9cm and 7.5cm, which give you the basic easel. I used Melon Mambo card for the base.

Again with this type of calendar you need to choose something that you will love looking at all year, hence the cute pink teddy, I love the way she is holding the calendar. She is a paper piecing teddy and each piece has been sponged before assembly. The mat behind the teddy is Pink Pirouette with a layer of Melon Mambo behind that. I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to shape all the corners, even on the Post-It notes. The background is a mixture of Gorgeous Grunge and the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp sets.

The sentiment is from An Open Heart, stamped in Melon Mambo, and a little Gorgeous Grunge and some tiny pearls for some prettiness........

This calendar also folds flat for posting, but due to the Post-It notes its not normal postage. Luckily she is home from Uni so I can give it her to take back with her...

She will love it...

I have listed all the products used below so if you need anything just click on a product to go directly to my on-line shop, its open 24/7.

Thanks for stopping by, pop back Thursday for calendar number Three......

An Open Heart Calendar

Hello and welcome back...

Well its that time of year again when we start looking at getting a new calendar, so I thought that this week I would share some with you.
Today's is a very simple one and very easy to make.

The main thing about this type of calendar is that you choose an image that you are happy to look at all year, which is not a problem with this stamp set, I love this bird from An Open Heart, I stamped it in Basic Black and coloured it in with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake on top and Crushed Curry and So Saffron on the bottom.

I used a piece of Night of Navy card stock for the base, you can get two out of one piece of A4, just cut it in half lengthways, then score at 10.5cm, 21cm, 24.5cm and 28cm. Fold score lines and assemble.

The mat on the front is Soft Sky and is 10cm x 10cm, I sponged a pale sun or moon and then stamped the foliage in Garden Green, I used  a blender pen to colour in the leaves and berries. I made a fence using the Hardwood stamp and stuck it to the bottom half of the card. Then I stuck the bird on using dimensionals for the body and tombo to stick his feet down.

Finally I stuck a calendar to the fence. These can be purchased from most stationery stores or craft outlets.

The calendar can fold flat for posting and mine was not any extra postage to send.

So there we have calendar number one, pop back tomorrow for number two......
