Curvy Keepsake Wednesday

Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday.....

Today's box was inspired by this awesomely cute chap.....

He was a Christmas present from my Best Friend Elaine,( I collect Bears! ) and he is just so adorable.

And here he is with the curvy keepsake boxes.

I made two slightly different boxes as I realised that some of the punches are now retired...
The eyes use the small oval punch (retired), the 1/2" circle punch and the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch pack (retired). The nose is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the ears are the 1" circle punch.

This box substitutes the wing from the Bird Builder Punch for the small oval punch and the larger circle from the Owl Builder Punch for the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch pack..

Both are pretty cute, but I think I like the first one the best....

I think my Panda agrees....lol

I have listed all the products used below, just click on one to go to my on-line store to purchase.

Tin Of Cards

Hello and welcome back.....

The project I’m sharing today takes center stage on the cover of our Annual Catalogue this year. It’s the Tin of Cards Project Kit and it might be one of my favourite products in the catalogue.

In about an hour and a half I had all of the cards put together plus the dividers completed as well. The kit comes with materials for four each of four card designs for a total of 16 cards with envelopes. The entire project is so cute. I LOVE the cards and the tin is adorable too.

Here is a close up of the tin. It’s a really strong and stylish container for your cards. It is great to have as a back up for cards you may need in a rush, a forgotten birthday, an unexpected event, a quick thank you card....

The kit comes with nine dividers for you to stamp on and the co-ordinating Tin of Cards Stamp Set includes stamps for each of the tabs. If you wanted to add more dividers you can make them using the File Tabs Thinlits Dies.

The cards are so pretty and so easy to put together.

The first card is a beautiful Bermuda Bay, the word bubble on these is actually a wooden embellishment, so it gives texture to the cards.

I love this next card. It’s so bright and colourful.

Here’s the gold glitz card. Remember when you stamp the small words on the background of the card, make sure to stamp one card with ‘hello,’ one with ‘congrats,’ one with ‘happy,’ and one with ‘thanks.’ Don’t stamp all four with the same word, because when you go to add the large circular greeting you only get one ‘congrats,’ one ‘hello,’ one ‘happy birthday,’ and one ‘thank you.’

I saved my personal favourite for last – the butterfly card. Isn’t this one a beauty? When assembling make sure you only place adhesive under the center of the butterflies so that you can pop up their wings!

So there you go. The Tin of Cards kit is a great gift for yourself or for someone else and is great value at £24.50, see below for details on how to order.

Happy 18th Birthday

Hello and welcome back...

Today is my Sons 18th Birthday and this is the card I made for him....

I used the Build a Birthday Stamp set to stamp the cake stand in Smoky Slate and then I cut it out and stuck it to the card with dimensionals.

I stamped the background with the spats from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set and the Stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp set in Island Indigo.

I used various Washi Tapes to create the layers on the cake and stamped the flag topper on the top in Island Indigo.

I used a new set from the Spring / Summer catalogue to cut out the 18 from Silver card, love the new size.

Safe to say he loved it.....

Christmas Table Place Names

Hello and welcome back....

I have been busy preparing for Christmas day, we are spending Christmas with my Best Friend and her family so I will be away from home for a week so this could be my last post for a while....maybe...
So my friend decided we needed place cards for the Christmas table.....

So here they are..... using two of my favourite stamp sets, Santa's Gifts and Snow Place. I did a bit of brayering, I masked off the bottom part of the Place card and brayered Soft Sky on the top part, then stamped the trees from the Happy Scenes stamp set in Garden Green.

I removed the mask and added some snow detail to the trees and ground using a white gel pen. The names were made using the Rotary Alphabet Stamp and Word Window Punch.

I decided to do half of them with Penguins on and half with Reindeers on, I stamped them in Basic Black and then used a blender pen to colour them in.

And I couldn't forget that little bird, here I made him a little Robin....

I think everyone liked them....

I have listed all the products used to make them below, but hurry because there is only 9 more days left to order from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and then they are gone....

Butterflies Galore

Hello and welcome back....

Today I am sharing a video from Stampin'Up! featuring the gorgeous stamp set Butterfly Basics and the matching Butterfly Thinlits.

Aren't they gorgeous.....

The Butterfly Thinlits used on their own, with some Gorgeous Grunge in the background make a gorgeous card. The butterfly has been cut out and sponged with Night of Navy, Pacific Point and Lost Lagoon.

Here the butterfly has been cut out of Night of Navy card and the background has been created with the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set.

A slight variation on the previous card, and the great thing is if you buy the Butterfly Thinlits together with the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set you save 15% off the regular price. Awesome saving for such a great set.

Cute Teddy Calendar

Hi there and welcome back...

I love making novelty calendars, this one is one of my favourites, its a cute hanging Teddy Calendar. They are just so much fun to make.

Isn't she just the cutest, she's a paper piecing teddy which I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo form Pink Pirouette card, She has been sponged around each piece with Rose Red ink before assembly.

Her little bow has been made using the Heart from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the Flower from the Tree Builder Punch. Then I used the White Gel Pen to do some faux stitching. Her nose has been coloured with the Rose Red Marker Pen and then covered in Crystal Effects to make it shiny.

I used the Rose Red Marker pen to do faux stitching around all the pieces of the teddy and added some features to the face. Then I created a banner with a piece of Rose Red card, I used the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to shape the corners and did some faux stitching with  a White Gel Pen. Then I stuck the calendar to the banner.

Lastly I added some Thick Bakers Twine to hand the Teddy up with....

Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Hello and welcome back...

Do you have problems remembering important dates? Well I do, all the time and it drives me crazy. Every year I tell myself I will do better this year and somehow it still runs away from me......lol.  So when I saw this in the Stampin'Up! catalogue I had to get one.

Its called The Perpetual Birthday Calendar Simply Created Kit.

The kit contains all of these elements, 12 printed calendar sheets, clipboard, banners, accents and alphabet stickers, bakers twine, ribbon, sequin trim, sequins and glitter. It comes in a beautiful kraft box, so you could make it up and give it to someone.

I decided to use the instructions provided as a guide, here is the January sheet on the clipboard, I added the matching stamp set to my order, as I really liked it. It has all the months and a background stamp for each month as well which I have used a lot on other projects.

As you can see the background stamps are very versatile, you have snowflakes, leaves, flowers, stars, splodges, dots and butterflies.

A close up of April, I used the dot stamp and the watercolour wash stamp, along with the April stamp. I added a glitter banner and a feather and an A for April. So pretty.

You can decorate the edges and corners, follow the guide or do your own thing theres lots of scope.

I had lots of elements left over which I can use on cards or other projects.

All the products used are listed below if you would like to order this kit and have a go for yourself, just click on an item to go to my on-line store.

An Open Heart Calendar with drawer.

Hello and welcome back....

Todays calendar has a little extra something as you will see....

Basically its an Easel card on top of a box with a drawer, you will see several different versions of this on Pinterest and the net. This one is very easy to make and can be a lot of fun to give as presents.

The card for the box outer is 5" x 11", scored on the long side at 1", 5", 6" and 10", then scored on the short side at 1" , this will give you a box with one opening.
The drawer is 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and scored at 1" and 2" on all sides, once assembled this will fit inside the box, you will need to some kind of handle on the drawer to open it, I used a large Antique Brad.

The Easel part is 4" x 8" and is scored along the long side at 4" and 6", fold along the score lines and stick to top of box. I put a mat onto the base before sticking on the calendar. Then I decorated a panel with the stamp set An Open Heart and matted it onto a piece of Soft Suede card before attaching it to the Easel card.

The drawer can hold a Post-It note pad, small pen and small pencil, or it could hold paperclips and drawing pins, great for use on a desk or by the telephone for taking messages.

Being an easel card on top means that it will fold down so you can pop it in the post fairly easily.

I hope you like todays calendar pop back tomorrow for a different one...
