Curvy Keepsake Wednesday

Hi there and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday...

We are still on the Halloween theme as its nearly October and we need to be prepared...
So today's Curvy Keepsake Box is a really cute (or should that be scary!!) Jack O Lantern, pumpkin carving is getting to be quite popular in the UK now as you may have seen from last years October 31st post, so I thought I would create one using the Curvy Keepsake Box....

Inside is a battery Tea Light...

You can see it a little better here where its darker..

I could only find one battery tealight even though I know I have more....but where!!!!!

Anyway back to the box.. I cut out the box as normal but before putting it together I cut out the scary face and then I stamped the box pieces with the Hardwood Stamp and Pumpkin Pie ink. Then using the 2" Circle Punch I punched out two circles of Vellum and stuck them behind the face. Then I assembled the box and popped a tea light inside.

I made a little tag using some leaves I cut out with the Leaflets Framelits and an Oval stamped first with the Hardwood Stamp and the with Happy Halloween from the And Many More Stamp Set.

I attached them all together with some Bakers Twine and attached it to the box with a tiny peg which I had coloured with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.

They look so good with their little lights inside, ( must find lost Tea Lights or go buy some more!!!)

So I hope you like today's box, thanks for stopping by......

Woodland Halloween

Hello and welcome back..

I have a fantastic card to share with you today, it's using a really cool technique and the Woodland embossing folder. It's not a new technique but it is really fun and a bit messy....lol.

The base card is Pumpkin Pie Card, topped with a layer of Basic Black and finally the embossed layer which is Whisper White. So I started off with the piece of Whisper White and the Woodland embossing Folder. Open up the embossing folder, you want the side where the background is raised not the trees and you are going to ink up this side, either by putting the ink pad straight on the folder or by using a brayer..its up to you.. Then you put your white card in the folder and put it through the Big Shot.

You end up with the background being orange but the trees staying white. Next I gently brayered over the raised trees with versamark ink, sprinkled on some heat and stick powder and heated it until it changed colour then sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and heated it again to set the glitter...just beautiful..

For the sign I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black and cut it out using the Word Window Punch and matted it onto some Basic Black card.

I added some little bats and some spiders to make it seem spooky....

Its hard to see from the photos but the trees are so sparkly it really makes the white of the trees stand out...

If you like today's card pop back on Thursday for some more using this technique...

Sleigh Ride Edgelits Halloween Card

Hello and welcome back....

I have a really great Halloween Card featuring the Sleigh Ride Edgelits to share with you...

The background has been brayered using Tangelo Twist, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze, the moon has been masked and then sponged with Daffodil Delight.

I stamped the three little bats in Basic Black, they are from the retired set Holiday Home...

The fox is stamped in Basic Black and is from the New Set Jingle All The Way..

I cut the Houses from the Sleigh Ride Edgelits out of Basic Black Card. I stamped the Happy Halloween onto some Hello Honey Card and punched it out with the Word Window Punch.

Loving the look of the little houses silhouetted against the rich colour of the sky...

I hope you like today's project, thanks for stopping by....

Halloween Treats Basket

Hello and welcome back....

Today I have been making baskets using the Berry Basket Bigz L, I have had this die for some time and I can't believe I have not used it until now!!! I have cut out several for Halloween and while I had the Big Shot out I thought I might as well cut a few Christmas ones as well....

I cut some Pumpkin Pie Card Stock 5" x 8 1/4" which fits over the die with minimum wastage. You will need two of these as you will put it through the Big Shot twice. (although I put them both through together and they cut through fine)

You will get two scalloped pieces and two plain pieces, you can  use either, I chose the scalloped pieces. Then before I stuck them together I stamped the Basket, Trim and Handle with the Hardwood stamp, I masked off the bottom of the basket with Post It notes as I wanted it to be plain.

The Trim has two score lines which you can crease and you used the little tabs to stick the two pieces of trim together. You then stick the two main pieces to the trim one at a time. Lastly you add the handle, I attached mine with some tiny brads.

Then you can decorate them as you like, I stamped some white tissue paper with pumpkins and put that in the basket before adding some bags of treats.

Then I made a tag using the scalloped Tag Topper punch, added a pumpkin and some leaves and an oval which I stamped first with the Hardwood Stamp and then with Happy Halloween from the Stamp Set And Many More.

All finished, you may be able to see that one basket is stamped and the other is not... I definitely prefer the stamped basket....what about you?

Box of Crackers...

Hello and welcome back.....

As promised I have the instructions for the Cracker box to hold 6 of the little mini crackers I made yesterday...

For the Box I have used some Merry Moments DSP and the Window Sheets.

For the box base you will need a piece of DSP 8 1/4" x 8 1/2", then using your scoring board score the short side at 1 1/8" and 7 1/8" then turn it and score on the long side at 1 1/8" and 7 3/8"

 Gently crease all the sides..

Snip each of the corners as shown and glue them into place.

 The inside of the base...

 The outside of the base....

This box will hold 6 of these mini crackers.  The lid is made exactly the same, but using an 8 1/4" x 8 1/2" Acetate Window Sheet. When scoring the acetate sheet you need to make a shim with a scrap of acetate sheet so that the box lid will be slightly smaller and will fit neatly inside the base.

Pop the crackers inside, wrap a ribbon around the box and you are all done..super easy...

I hope you have enjoyed this little project, thanks for stopping by....

It's a Cracker!!!

Hello and welcome back...

Today I have been making these fun Mini Christmas Crackers....

Here is a box of six crackers that I made which would be great to give as a gift, especially if you filled the crackers with gifts personal to the recipients....

The box has an acetate lid so that you can see the contents, check back tomorrow for more details on how to make it.

The crackers are simplicity itself, you start with a piece of DSP 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". I used the lovely Merry Moments Designer Series Paper. Then using your scoring board score at 1",1 1/2",2" and 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2" along the long side, then turn and score at 1", 2", 3" and 4" along the short side.

Once you have done that you can fold all the creases ready to go in the Envelope Punch Board.

Place the long side in the board and line it up at 1 1/2" and 5" and punch. Do this for each of the creases and it should look like this....

You do not punch the smallest tab which you use to glue it together...

Once glued you can push the ends in a little and it will look more like a cracker....

Put some ribbon around one end and carefully tie it into a bow.

Before tying the other end pop in the gift or chocolate and then decorate it, you could put names on them and use them as table favours..

They are so cute and ideal for any occasion not just Christmas, I'm thinking about doing some for Halloween, but they would be great for parties of all kinds...

I hope you enjoyed, pop back tomorrow to see how the box is made...

A Tiggeriffic Birthday....

Hello and welcome back....

Today I can share with you the Birthday card I made for my friends daughter who has just turned 21, her birthday was on Wednesday so I didn't want to show it before....
Her favourite character from Winnie The Pooh is Tigger.....

I made the Tigger using a Paper Piecing Template and my Silhouette Cameo, its a bit fiddly but I love how he came out... I sponged all the pieces first and then assembled him and added some highlights and extra detail using a white gel pen and my Stampin'Write markers.

The little flag I made using some Very Vanilla Card and a cocktail stick, the sentiment is from the Stamp Set Remembering Your Birthday..

I used the Banner Punch to create a little Banner and used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the name. Then I threaded it on to some Bakers Twine and attached it to the card.

The background has been stamped with the stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set.

I was really pleased with the finished card and so was the recipient I am glad to say....

I hope you enjoyed today's card, thanks for stopping by....
