The Wilderness Awaits Birthday Greetings

Hey there, welcome back...

Today's card features the beautiful stamp set The Wilderness Awaits and more specifically the Elk, which is simply gorgeous..

I have been practicing my brayering again and I think I'm getting better, I seem to have less lines now and although you can't see very well with the photo my gradients are getting a lot better....

I used Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight for the background, I masked off the sun with a 1 3/8" circle cut from sticky back post it tape, (it comes in a roll and the whole back of the post it is sticky not just the top, so is ideal for this sort of thing.)

I stamped the Elk in Basic Black and then used a marker to carefully colour it in black creating a silhouette. I used a White Gel Pen to create the highlights....

The ground on which the Elk is standing has been extended to the bottom of the card and coloured and highlighted and some of the Basic Black Stitched Satin Ribbon wrapped around the card.

I just love how this card came out, it will make an awesome male birthday card.
This card was inspired by one that Michelle Zindorf had created, check out her website for some great tutorials for brayering and sponging...

Hope you enjoyed today's card thanks for stopping by....

Afternoon Sun in the Wetlands

Hello and welcome back,

Today I have gone back to the days of long hot Summers for this gorgeous card, it was inspired by one of Michelle Zindorf's creations which are just beautiful.

For this card you need to punch a 1 3/8" circle out of two post it notes and stick to a piece of Whisper White 9 1/2cm x 13.9cm. Then brayer Crushed Curry ink top and bottom and then add a little Soft Suede to the bottom as per the card above.

I stamped the Birthday Greetings from the Wetlands set in Early Espresso ink.

And then stamped the birds under the sun and some grass at the bottom.

Then I added some highlights with a white gel pen to the grasses and the birds.

And sponged a little Crushed Curry in the center of the sun.

And voila a beautiful wetlands scene.........

Hope you like today's card thanks for stopping by....

Curvy Keepsake Wednesday

Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday,

This weeks box is a little Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and he is oh so cute....

So I started off by cutting out the pieces for the Curvy Keepsake Box from Chocolate Chip Card and then sponged around the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink.

Then I punched out the pieces for the Rudolf head, I used the extra large Oval Punch for the face, the 1/2" and 1/4" circle punches for the eyes out of Whisper White and Basic Black, the 1/2" Circle for the nose out of Red Glimmer Paper and the tree trunk from the Tree Builder Punch for his antlers. The ears are cut from an extra large oval punch by putting the oval back into the punch and cutting off each end.

I sponged around all the pieces before assembling them as above..

I used the White Gel Pen to add some highlights to the eyes and then I attached the head to the box with dimensionals.

The trees look so good as antlers don't you think......

And the finished boxes such cute little Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.....

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Curvy Keepsake Box, thanks for stopping by...

Wondrous Wreath Christmas

Hey there welcome back..

Who doesn't like a bargain! Well I know I do and the Autumn/Winter Catalogue is full of them, if you buy the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies together with the Happy Scenes Stamp Set you save 15% off the regular price if brought separately... and if you buy Wondrous Wreath Framelits Dies along with the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set you will save 15% off the regular price if brought separately....Just Sayin''

For this card I started off with a Cherry Cobbler card base and added a Whisper White mat which had been embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

I cut the window out of Chocolate Chip card, then I cut a piece of vellum to go behind the window and embossed it with the Bo Ho Chic Embossing Folder and stuck it to the back of the window, then I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight and stuck that behind the vellum. Then I attached it to the card with dimensionals.

The wreath is stamped first in Old Olive, then Mossy Meadow and then the berries in Cherry Cobbler. Then I cut it out using the matching Framelits Dies. Then I stamped and cut out five of the little flowers and embossed then to give them dimension and used my Gold pen to colour the dots in the center. I stuck them to wreath and added a bow I cut out of red glitter paper using the Framelits dies.

I used dimensionals to attach the wreath to the window. The sentiment is from the Happy Scenes Stamp Set, stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out using the Word Window Punch.

I love the vellum effect behind the window it's like net curtains and the yellow gives the illusion of a light being on....

All of the products to make this card are available 24/7 from my on-line store.

Awesomely Artistic meets An Open Heart

Hello and welcome back....

Today's card uses two of my favourite stamp sets.. An Open Heart and Awesomely Artistic they have such beautiful images and are so versatile....

My base card is Soft Suede with a Cherry Cobbler mat. Then I have used Whisper White and stamped the flower image from Awesomely Artistic on the card in Basic Black. Then using a blender pen I started off with Real Red and coloured in all the flowers then went back over and did highlights in Cherry Cobbler. The leaves I started with Old Olive and then did highlights in Mossy Meadow.

I used the splodges stamp and Sahara Sand ink to create the background and a blender pen to create the ground the bird is standing on.

I used a Gold marker to do the center of the flowers, Stampin'Up! no longer sell the Gold marker but a Gold Sharpie works just as well.

The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black, the bird is placed so that it looks like it is looking at the sentiment.

I think I may be obsessed with this bird image its just so beautiful.....

An Open Heart Christmas

Hey there and welcome back....

Today's card features that beautiful bird from the stamp set An Open Heart, it also uses the New Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

The base card is Cherry Cobbler with a Chocolate Chip mat. Then there is a piece of Soft Sky card which has been embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

I stamped the bird n Basic Black then coloured it with Stampin' Write markers, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, So Saffron and Crushed Curry. The bow is from the Stamp Set Wondrous Wreath and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

The fence is a piece of Whisper White stamped with the Hardwood Stamp and Smoky Slate ink, it is then trimmed down and the top shaped using paper snips. It is then attached to the card with dimensionals.

Before attaching it to the card I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black and added the pine branches that I coloured with markers. I stuck the bow on with dimensionals and added some Dazzling Details here and there...

The finished card, so pretty....

I hope you like todays card, thanks for stopping by...

Hopeful Thoughts Setting Sun

Hello and welcome back.....

Today's card is a little break from Halloween and Christmas....It uses the lovely Hopeful Thoughts Stamp Set...

The card base is Chocolate Chip with a Whisper White Mat and then the brayered card.
I masked the sun using a circle punched out of two post it notes, then I brayered from the top in Crushed Curry to just below the sun, then I added some Pumpkin Pie and finally some Cajun Craze.

The bottom portion was Brayered first with Old Olive and then Mossy Meadow. The tree was then stamped in Basic Black so its branches overlapped the sun. The sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set punched out with the Decorative Label punch.

To get the mat under the sentiment I punched out two Decorative labels in Rich Razzleberry, I cut one in half horizontally and the other in half vertically and then stuck them behind the sentiment label offsetting them slightly..

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed today's card....

Peek A Boo Halloween

Hello and welcome back...

I have another Halloween Card to share with you today, it features the stamp set Howl-O-Ween Treat, this set has a matching set of Framelits Dies called Boo To You and if you buy them together as a bundle you can save 15% off the regular price....Woo Hoo...

To make the card take a piece of A4 Crumb Cake card and cut it length ways at 10 1/2 cms. Fold the card in half and then fold the front back on itself.

The front 1/4 you put in the Woodland Embossing Folder and put through the Big Shot, then you gently brayer Soft Suede Ink over the trees and stamp the little spider hanging from a branch.

Stamp Trick or Treat in Rich Razzleberry on a piece of Whisper White Card then using the circle framelits dies choose the circle closest to the size of the sentiment and cut it out. Then cut out a circle of Pumpkin Pie to mat under it...

Stamp the owl and pumpkin on to a piece of white card and cut out using the Boo to You Framelits, at the same time cut out a Boo from Rich Razzleberry card as well. Stick the circle to the front of the card as above and the owl to the inside making sure when the card is closed that he peeks out from behind the circle.

Stick the Boo to the inside of the card as shown and add some spiders as you wish...

Finally add the pumpkin to the circle lining it up so that when the card is closed it looks like the owl is holding the pumpkin....
